When we least expect it

Once in awhile I will think of you and wonder what you
are doing or who you are with? Once in awhile I will let myself remember how
things used to be, before we did this horrible thing that destroyed our
friendship. We used to laugh, we used to cry, we used to talk for hours and
hours about absolutely nothing. Now I am lucky if I hear from you once a month.
You feel weird, I feel worse. When we least expected it, we made the wrong
decision and destroyed something that was nothing but spectacular the way it
was. Our friendship, our respect, our path in life....
If I could turn back the clock and say no to you, I
would. If I could make the right decision for both of us I would. You want me to
take all the blame, you want me to see how you couldn't have been wrong at all
but I remember back and can recall how you begged for things to grow, how you
begged for things to change. Now its become an illusion in my mind because you of course...

suffer no remorse.

How can I continue to be friends with you knowing that you have changed? That you refused to protect me and only worried about yourself through this whole brigade.

How can I have respect for you when you would lie to me after so many years? You almost walked away from everything because "you couldn't handle life anymore" Leave town, leave your home, start anew. What about your family? What about your home? These things didn't phase you at all.You would have done anything to run, to leave, to just walk away.

When you least expect it I will get up and be gone, not to run from you but to run to something better. Something so much better for me. Something I truly deserve.
